  • Physicians and Nurses: They must use the SBAR protocol for all important patient handovers and urgent messages to guarantee a clear multi-specialty exchange of information. The system will verify compliance by monitoring staff through direct observation and feedback channels. 
  • The Quality Improvement (QI) Team: It helps assess data regarding SBAR’s effects on security measures for patient care, communication performance, and medical mistake prevention. It provides monthly reports to leadership.

The costs related to SBAR implementation become worthwhile because they create long-term advantages, including fewer medical mistakes, increased patient protection, and strengthened team performance capabilities. The organization faces significant risks through non-action because medical errors will continue with their associated rise in safety risks, increased readmissions, and potential legal repercussions. The organization will face increased operational expenses because unstructured teamwork generates staff burnout, turnover, and compromised care quality.
